Q: What is this site?A: This site hosts a searchable index of leaks that I have obtained about non-public information on WMF (Wikimedia Foundation) websites. (The Wikimedia Foundation is most known for Wikipedia, though it also hosts other sites - [almost] all of which are available here) Q: How were thees leaks obtained obtainedI cannot give percise information currently, but it was done in a 100% legal way. No databreaches or 'hacks' occurred (as some of the idiots over at Wikipediocracy have claimed). And no copyrights were violated as all data on this was once publically available on WMF sites, whose content is permissively licensed. (As a sidenote, that Wikipediocracy thread - along with much else on that decrepit site - is one of the most idiotic things I have ever read. Nearly ever single post in that thread is severely wrong about something, even when they're not talking about me. And at the same time, they act incredibly smug and arrogant Q: What information do these leaks containedThese leaks contain page revisions that have been expunged from public view on WMF sites. Normally, when you edit a page on a WMF wiki, all previous versions are still available for public view. However, admins - and some other groups - on these sites have the ability to hide them from public view. There are several ways they can do this: The first is page deletion; admins can delete a page which then hides all of its revisions from public view. The second is revision deletion; revision deletion explicity hides specific revisions from public view. These revisions then show up as greyed and crossed out in the revision history. The third way is oversighting; oversighting is special type of deletion that even admins cannot see. It is performed by two small groups of users, those being 'Oversighters' (referred to as 'Suppressors' on some wikis) and 'Stewards', who have the ability on all wikis instead of just one. The final type is manual deletion; manually deleting a revision works by an admin deleting a page and then undeleting it, but only restoring some of the revisions. It was mainly used a long time ago before the revision deletion feature was added to the wiki software (called 'MediaWiki'). It is not usually much these days as revision deletion has largely replaced it, though it is still occasionally used, mainly for the purpose of deleting a large amount of revision history. There is one final category that appears on this, that being 'missing'. This does not map to a MediaWiki feature as serve as a catch-all for deletions caused by other or unknown means. About 90% of this consists of page redirects that were deleted when moving another page to that redirect (which are deleted in a special way for some reason). As for the rest, I am not exactly sure. Some of it might be revisions deleted by the 'old oversight system', which was the system employed before the modern oversight system which is integrated with revision deletion, which unlike the modern one, left no trace in the revision history. However, I am not sure if these were moved over to the new oversight system, deleted forever, or if only some were converted over. It also may contain very early revisions from the early days of Wikipedia where old revisions were eventually deleted to save space, though any data from the 2001-2002 period is very inconsistent. It may also contain deleted pages which were undeleted and whose revisions could not be restored to their original ids. While all of these deletion methods are only supposed to be used for legitimate reasons, the design and community of Wikipedia means that they are regularly abused without consequence. On WMF wikis, 'pages' include not just articles, but internal discussions which are often where censorship is most abussed and where we might find the most interesting discoveries.
Note that this site only hosts textual content, not images or other files Q: What if I spot something on this that is genuinely illegal/harmfulPlease report it. While we believe that the vast majority of the content deleted on WMF sites is done so abusively or at least not legally necessary, we do recognize that these deletion tools are occasionally used for legitimate and necessary reasons. We believe that the benefit of shedding light on the vast corruption of the community and administration of the WMF and its sites outweights the potential harm from it, we seek to minimize any potential harms. If you find any illegal and/or objectively harmful content (e.g. CSAM, personal information of minors, information that could endanger someone's life, etc.), PLEASE REPORT IT. Note that "I don't like it" or "I find it morally objectionable" ARE NOT valid reasons, and we may BAN you from our ticket system if you repeatedly report content for invalid reasons. Doing so also delays the processing of legitimate reports. Q: How much data is included on this~40% of oversighted revisions, 50%-60% of revdelled revisions, and 60%-70 of revisions from deleted pages for enwiki. I have not run the data for other wikis, but I would assume they are similar. This data is not evenly distributed however; there is almost no data between 2023 and mid 2025, less than average data before about 2011, and more data in the intervening years. Notably, I am now running a script that captures all revisions in real-time from all WMF wikis, so these rates should all be very close to 100% going forward. The data captured from this will not appear immediately on this site however, it make take up to several months to appear. Currently, I have to do the processing on my computer manually. I am currently working on improving my code so that it be run entirely automatically and on a remote server. I will still need to buy a significantly upgraded server however; you can help me by DONATING to this site. Even after I have automatic processing of the data setup, it will still likely take at least a month before it appears on the site as the process is fundementally very computationally expensive. Note that this is NOT the amount of time the revision must be public on the WMF wiki, just the amount of time it takes to process. A revision could be oversighted within a minute and it would still likely be captured by my script, it would just take a lot longer to become available on this site. Q: How can I contact youE-mail [email protected] for general inquiries, and [email protected] for takedowns Q: What does (missing) meanIt means any revision that doesn't fall into any of the previous categories. Note that 'manually deleted' as well as 'missing' sometimes appear incorrectly for (very, very) old pages that were deleted. Q: What does 'connected' mean in search'Connected' means including all renames of a user/page, and all others that have possessed that name and their renames as well. Q: Is this legalYes it is 100% legal. All leaks were obtained legally. Everything was at one point publically available on WMF sites, and thus was irrevocably licensed under CC-BY-SA 4.0, which we honor so copyright is not an issue. And we do more than enough to handle legitimate takedowns. ![]() ![]() This site is not affiliated with or endorsed in any way by the Wikimedia Foundation or any of its affiliates.
