There are more than thousands of maps including historical ones that call the Gulf between Iran and Arabian Peninsula as '''Persian Gulf'''. But there are only less than 10 maps that call it ''Gulf of Basra''. So as I have already mentioned in the article's talk page, according to [[en:WP:WEIGHT]], you can not just have one map in the article which shows a very minor view of the point.

Another thing : [http://az.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%C4%B0ran_k%C3%B6rf%C9%99zi&diff=2158518&oldid=2141321 here] you have added an unsourced name to the lead of the article. There is no reliable map in Azeri language that calls is that way. Even if you can find a single map, it's going to be a minor view. The [[en:WP:COMMONNAME|most common name]] in Azeri language should be used in Azeri Wikipedia.

::About [[en:Shatt al-Arab]], As I have already mentioned, We must look for the most common name used in their own language. In Persian, (right or wrong) the most common name for that river is Arvandrud. However, If you ask me, I'd say the correct name is Shatt al-Arab. Because as [[en:Ferdowsi]] has said , Arvandrud is the Persian name for [[en:Tigris]].
::About [[en:Jerusalem]], It's a different story, and has nothing to do with the common names policy. It is [[en:WP:Official names|the official name]] of a city. We can not change it based on the common name.
