== Geographie ==
Das County liegt nordwestlich des geographischen Zentrums von Texas, etwa 50  &nbsp;km vor der südöstlichen Spitze von [[New Mexikco]] und hat eine Fläche von 2371  &nbsp;km², wovon 2  &nbsp;km² Wasserfläche ist. Das County grenzt im Uhrzeigersinn an die Countys: [[Dawson County (Texas)|Dawson County]], [[Howard County (Texas)|Howard County]], [[Glasscock County]], [[Midland County (Texas)|Midland County]] und [[Andrews County]].

== Geschichte ==
Martin County wurde [[1876]] aus Teilen des [[Bexar County]] gebildet. Benannt wurde es nach [[Wylie Martin]], einem frühen Siedler in Texas.
