Bridge was built 1807-1808 by John Wallace, Contractor.  The Bridge played an important part in General John Hunt Morgan's raid during the American Civil War.

The Bridge has a total length of 259 feet 2 inches, with 3 spans, stone piers, wood floor and siding, roof covered with hand made wood shingles, hand wrought spikes used.
