In 2011, Harris was nominated for a [[BAFTA]] for Best Supporting Actor and a [[Royal Television Society Award]] for Best Actor for his portrayal of abusive father Mick in [[Shane Meadows]]' ''[[This is England '86]]''. 

From September 2011, he starred in a new six-part [[BBC Three]] drama ''[[The Fades (TV series)|The Fades]]'', written by [[Jack Thorne (writer)|Jack Thorne]], who co-wrote ''This is England '86''.


His current projects include   ''[[Snow White and the Huntsman]]'' for [[Universal Pictures]]. due for cinema release on 01st June 2012 and ''[[Welcome to the Punch]]'' due for release in cinemas on 01st September 2012

He was back on TV screens in December 2011, reprising his BAFTA-nominated role of Mick in ''[[This is England '88]]''.

In March 2012 "[[The Fades]]" in which Johnny starred as Neil Valentine, was nominated for a Royal Television Society Award for 'Best Drama Series'.
