What really surprises me is the stubbornness the WMF is showing here in introducing the visual editor. Increasingly I find myself thinking that Wikipedia is being made harder and even impossible to edit step by step introducing an AFT nobody has ever needed or requested, an unusable Wikidata which has failed by design from the very start, now by doing away with the MediaWiki editor (after all, that's the tool that we use to bring in ''all'' content), and finally by replacing discussion pages with "Flow". The WMF, it appears, is not the least interested in the needs of its most faithful contributors, taking away the tools we need for our work, cf. the dying-away of the Toolserver, or the doing-away of the tick box to switch off visual editor for some hours on enwiki some weeks ago. I gather that it will not be possible to switch off "Flow". So, if we cannot even continue to discuss the way we used to what will be left for us to stay here? Even assuming lots of good faith, despite the WMF's best intentions, we will probably lose our core community pretty soon, and WMF does not seem to be interested in us any more. Been there, seen that. Paid editors are about to take over, I assume, while Wikimedia organisations are looking for a new community who likes these Facebook and Google kind of gadgets that are taking a lot of time and money to develop.
