John Lancaster Spalding (* 2. Jun 1840 in Lebanon, Kentucky – † 25. August 1916 in [[w:Peoria (Illinois)|Peoria, Illinois]]) war ein US-amerikanischer Schriftsteller, Dichter und Befürworter von Hochschulbildung. Er war der erste Bischof von [[w:Peoria (Illinois)|Peoria, Illinois]] von 1877 bis 1908 und Mitbegründer der [[w:Katholische Universität von Amerika|Katholischen Universität von Amerika]].
