It may also be note-worthy that the villagers of Hackdirt became reclusive, much in the way the Dwemer were reclusive.

However, given the similarities between the village of Hackdirt and the village of [[The Shadow over Innsmouth|Innsmouth]] in the works of [[H.P. Lovecraft]], this may refer to an entirely different kind of [[Deep One]] altogether. 
tThis also raises questions about the Dwemer because they were said to have given "the bible of the deep ones" too the villagers of Hackdirt and selected the "chosen few" to perform the sacrifice of Dar-Ma and live underground while some of the villagers still lived on the surface of Hackdirt.
