Dr. Tang Haoming's three-book series on General [[Zeng Guofan]] stood out in the sea of fantasy history that is the norm in Chinese bookstores.


When I first found out about Wikipedia when I was doing an [[internet]] search about a historic topic. I was very impressed and I decided to donate some of my time into wikipedia works in English and [[Chinese language|Chinese]]My reasons for my decision to contribute to Wikipedia is two-fold. One, my contributions to the China-related articles is driven by a personal urge to make the English speaking world more aware and less ignorant about China. Secondly, my personal experiences, professional background and academic interest has propelled makes me confident in being a reviewer on controversial topics.

Recently my topics of research are Qing Dynasty history and the controversy surrounding [[Falun Gong]]. In addition, my personal and professional experiences and connections in China, along with my frequent visits there (most recently traveled China July-August 2006, plan to go again soon) have instigated a deep interest within me to research and analyze contemporary Chinese society and its many challenges.
