'''NASCAR Racing Season 96''' is a [[NASCAR]] [[simulator]] created by [[Papyrus]] and [[Sierra Entertainment|Sierra]] and was released for the PC and MAC in early [[1996]], with a ported version of the game for the original [[Playstation]] that was released later in 1996. This game features [[Ricky Rudd]] and [[Dale Earnhardt Sr.]] on the cover with [[Jeff Gordon]], [[Michael Waltrip]], [[Mark Martin (NASCAR)|Mark Martin]], [[Terry Labonte]], and [[Ward Burton]] in the inset. 

This game featured 3 main modes of game play, them being Arcade Race, Simulation Race, and Simulation Testing. 

This game only allows you to drive one car (3 different ones if your playing Arcade Race mode) for the whole game. You can't switch to your favorite driver in this game. There have been hints on how you can change to Jeff Gordon, or Dale Earnhardt Sr., but they have not worked. This is the last game to be made before EA Sports joined the NASCAR community in 1997.
