Mer was born in [[San Antonio, Texas]] to Amnon J. Mer and Karen Felice Cook. She began her career at age 6 by auditioning for the [[soap opera]] "The City." After working on the show for almost a year, she appeared in numerous commercials. 

Mer had an appearance on [[Medical Investigation]], where she played a lonely teen who is questioned for the murdering of her fellow peers.
