In the summer of 2003, Madonna and hip-hop star Missy Elliott appeared together in a GAP commercial which advertised GAP's new denim jeans line. For the commercial, which premiered on TV stations all around the world on July 28th, 2003, a new version of Madonna's then-current single "Hollywood" and her 1985 hit "Into the Groove" were mixed together by Elliott and became "Into The Hollywood Groove". A heavily edited version of the song first appeared in the GAP commercial. The song however was first only released on a special Promo Only 2-track GAP instore CD which was available if a pair of jeans was purchased.
