Gentleman Jim Carter's claim to fame is that he never lost a ratings "book." A radio disc jockey, primarily in the 70's and 80's, Gentleman Jim created a "Freak Show" at WBAB in Babylon, Long Island, New York in 1973 which attracted national attention from several national periodicals. Utilizing his unique skills of being able to get his listeners to say some of the strangest things ever uttered over the airwaves, Gentleman Jim became heralded as one of the best communicators in radio history. He now resides in [[San Antonio, Texas]] and semi-retired.

Jim is a ''severe weather enthusiast''.  He enjoys chasing thunderstorms in hopes of capturing a tornado on video.  Ironically, back in the 70's, Jim had a very close encounter with a twister.  In Wichita Falls, Tx. while racing back to assist
his landlord, Jim's car was "run over" by the mammouth tornado.  The F4 rated storm pummeled his car, lifting it off the ground, and gouged a large crease across the roof.  Jim survived the tornado with only minor cuts and scratches.  His landlord also survived the storm.  ⏎
