This image creates needless contention with religious groups and violates the principal of NPV. It should be removed from the front page, if not the evolution article entirely.

I absolutely agree. Wikipedia should not host mockeries of religious symbols, regardless of how satirical or even light-hearted the mockery is. A Star of David or Islamic crescent lampooned would not be tolerated. There are many better pictures that could be used (a portrait of Darwin, some Galapagos finches) than this. --[[User:BDD|BDD]] 01:23, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I agree also. As a Christian, I find this image offensive and find that putting it on the front page of the wikipedia is not appropriate. I have no problems with the evolution article as long as it acknowledges alternate points of view, but a mockery of a religious symbol should not be tolerated.--[[User:Mattlary|Mattlary]] 02:03, Mar 18, 2005 (UTC)

I disagree. The fish is an important symbol for representing evolution

Someone should form a religion whose symbol is the circle. Then you could bitch anytime anyone put anything inside or around a circle, claiming religious discrimination.

It's a symbol of a fish. You don't have a monopoly on fish images.
