Their aim is to provide customers with very competitive transaction costs—tight bid/ask spreads on the most poular currency pairs. 

Instead of quoting full pips, FXCM will now quote prices in tenths of pips. The digit representing a tenth of a pip appears to the right of the two large bold face digits.

With the additional decimal place, you will see a more accurate—and usually tighter—spread.
