John Storm was born in [[Latimore Township, Pennsylvania]], and died in [[Greene County, Indiana]].<ref name="pension">John Storm's Pension Record.  September 24, 1831.  First-hand account.  Held at the National Archives in Washington D.C.</ref>  He served under Captains [[Ballard Smith]] and [[Thomas Boyer]] in the [[1st Virginia Regiment]] start, beginning in 1780.<ref name="pension"/>  Later that year hein 1780, John Storm served under Captain [[Robert Morrows]] in Colonel [[William Washington]]'s regiment of Continental Ddragoons.<ref name="pension"/>  He is believed to have fought not only inat the [[Battle of Cowpens]], but at the [[Battle of Guildford Court House]] as well.
