He is also the grandson of former [[United States Vice President|US Vice President]] [[Hubert Humphrey]] and former [[Second Lady of the United States|Second Lady]] and [[United States Senate|US Senator]] [[Muriel Humphrey]]. 

In [[2002]] he ran unsuccessfully for [[Minnesota Secretary of State]] as the [[Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party|Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party]] candidate against the [[Republican Party of Minnesota|Republican]] [[incumbent]] [[Mary Kiffmeyer]]. He is currently considering a run for retiring Representative [[Jim Ramstad]]'s house seat in the 3rd Congressional District of Minnesota.    

Humphrey is also considered to be one of the front runners for the
