==History==
DePuy Spine is a joint venture with Biedermann Motech GMBH.  Originally called DePuy Motech and located in [[Warsaw, Indiana]], the company was re-named DePuy Acromed in [[1998]] with the purchase of Acromed Corporation.  The new company re-located to Acromed's corporate headquarters in [[Cleveland, Ohio]] until [[1999]] when it moved to its current location in [[Raynham, Massachusetts]] after [[Johnson & Johnson]] bought [[DePuy]], Inc.

The company purchased Orquest in [[2003]], who's flagship product Healos is DePuy Spine's top selling osteobiologic product.  In May of 2003 the company purchased the Link Spine Group, creators of the Charité Artificial Disc.  DePuy, Inc. renamed DePuy Acromed to DePuy Spine in October of 2003.

In October [[2004]], the Charité Artificial Disc became the first total disc replacement to obtain [[Food and Drug Administration|FDA]] approval in the [[United States]].
