Jurkin was born in [[Koksetau]] ([[Kazakhstan]], [[Central Asian Republic]]) and since [[1996]] has lived in [[Saint Petersburg]]. He studied dramatic art at the [[Saint Petersburg State Academy of Dramatic Art]] ([[1987]] - [[1992]]). Jurkin is a [[Russia]]n [[novelist]] who began his career in the [[Soviet Union|Soviet]] era.
