By default, as the text says, it obtains information from a user's computer without consent or knowledge. Saying it 'cannot' be considered spyware is an invalid statement in itself. I definitely think it's up for debate.

Some mention should be made of the enormous resources it consumes with a large music library. Someone looking for an alternative to mpd is going to notice that.

Well... I have a pretty big music library (~200GB), and xmms2 is not eating that ammount of resources... Could you give some example?
