The tensions between the two is only partially calmed with the intervention of [[Shakedown (comics)|Shakedown]]. These incidents lead to Windfall quitting the team and beginning a lengthy stint with the Outsiders. 

During the 1987 Outsiders special, Windfall helps in a reversal of her original appe
areance. Markovia is again under threat of invasion by outside forces. She assists the Outsiders and [[Infinity Inc.]] in freeing the country.

She temporarily leaves the Outsiders and ends up associated with [[Strike Force Kobra]]. As part of this group she fights her old comrades on at least one occasion. Coming to her senses again, she rejoins the Outsiders briefly. She suffers with them in the reality-defying tortures of [[Felix Faust]]'s home dimension.
