Version Cue enables users to track and manipulate file versions and [[metadata]], which is information about the history of [[computer file]]s, such as the fact that one file is a new version of a related older file. Users can see previews of older versions via Bridge and can restore or delete versions at any time. Version Cue also supports the process of collaboratively reviewing [[PDF]]s among groups of people.

Version Cue can be accessed with the central Creative Suite tool for browsing, tasks and settings, the [[Adobe Bridge]]. The Version Cue Server uses Java to run the synchronization server and [[JavaServer Faces]] to create a web-based administration portal. The portal reveals that running an instance of the Version Cue server also launches an embedded instance of the [[MySQL]] database server.
