The [[Hawaiian Kingdom]] [[Overthrow of the Hawaiian Monarchy|was abolished]] and replaced with a republic in 1893, when Queen Liluokalani was desposed by a group of American businessmen. A rebellion two years later forced [[Liliuokalani]] to [[Abdication|relinquish her right]] to the throne.
