As one of the strongest lightsaber fighters in his day, Master Fisto was one of the members of the Jedi Council. Kit Fisto replaced the deceased Jedi Master Coleman Trebor during the Clone Wars.

Kit Fisto was assigned to a mission to Ord Cestus with Obi-Wan Kenobi in order to stop the Confederacy from purchasing Force-sensitive bio-droids for use against the Republic. While Obi-Wan was engaged in diplomatic tactics, Kit rounded up the native forces in case of Obi-Wan's failure. When Obi-Wan's friend discovered a loophole that would allow the workers of Ord Cestus to retake the factory for which they currently worked, Obi-Wan needed one last thing to cajole the Council into siding with the Republic, as some members were uncertain as to the Jedi abilitiy to protect them. So Kit took part in a desperate ruse in which the Five Families (the five people who controlled the main sources of income on Cestus) were apparently kidnapped when their tunnel car was diverted into an abandoned tunnel. Kit played Nemonus, a pawn of Count Dooku wielding a lightwhip (an inventive tool like a lightsaber except a flexible whip instead of a blade). Kenobi used the opportunity to apparently detect them using the Force, rode the dangerously fast tunnel cars to the location, and dueled Kit, driving him off. However, the ruse was blown by Asajj Ventress and Kit was forced to engage in sabotage before an ARC clone trooper, A-98 (called Nate, or later Jangotat) infiltrated the Five Families' bunker and used his homing beacon to redirect a surface bombardment, and also proved that the bio-droids could not kill anyone, as the droids were powered by dashta eels, Force sensitive creatures. Kit Fisto and Obi-Wan engaged in a duel with Asajj Ventress, and although Kit took a wound to the head, he managed to slice through the pilings of the dock the others were dueling on, startling Ventress and giving Obi-Wan the edge.

Kit Fisto was also one of three Jedi Masters who were killed while trying to arrest Chancellor Palpatine, after finding out the Chancellor was really a Sith Lord. Master Fisto was killed, along with Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin, shortly after engaging Palpatine in a brief clash of lightsabers. Fisto quickly met a rather ignominious end at the hands of the Sith Lord. When Anakin Skywalker entered the office he saw the dead Nautolan Jedi Master. However, Kit was sm(contracted; show full) as a background character from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, he appears primarily in the Star Wars: Republic and Star Wars: Jedi comic book series from Dark Horse Comics. Vos is presumed killed by Clones in Revenge of the Sith, as shown in the comic adaption, but it is later revealed that he had in fact survived Order 66.
