Sotha Sil was murdered at the hands of [[Almalexia]] in the year 426 of the Third Era. It was reported that, when Almalexia was killing him, he remained silent, despite her taunting. However, the news of his death is not common knowledge, and he continues to be revered by the Dunmer as one of the sacred Almsivi. His body was discovered by the Nerevarine, still wired into the advanced technology of the Clockwork City. 
In the morrowind game tThe player character who plays as the Nerevarine may try to tell other npcs what happaned but Almalexia's popularity causes you to be discrediteds the option of informing NPCs of what took place, but most NPCs will not believe it.
