==Death==

Volpe's death has been a source of debate by Bond film fans for years, due to the ambiguous nature in which her killing is filmed. To some, Bond intentionally uses her as a human shield to protect himself against a bullet, which would make her the first woman in the Bond film series to be killed by 007, albeit it indirectly (see also [[List of James Bond henchmen in The Spy Who Loved Me#Naomi|Naomi]] and [[Elektra King]]). The scene is parodied in ''[[Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me]]'', in a scene in which [[Austin Powers]] uses Robin Swallows as a human shield (Robin is not immediately killed by the knives, bullets, machine gun shell or high fall from the window).
