Birdie is a video game character from Capcom's Street Fighter series of fighting games.

(contracted; show full)
Appearance
Birdie is a hulking figure with dyed blonde hair, a leather jacket, several rings, and oddly pointed shoes. His unusual looking shoes are more common to punks in Japan, rather than Birdie's native England.

In his Street Fighter Alpha ending, Birdie's cattle skull beltbuckle is replaced with a Shadoloo symbol.

Birdie has a tatoo of a red heart on the side of his head. In the Udon Street Fighter comic book series, the other members of Bridie's entourage have tatoos consisting of a spade, a diamond, and a club, completing a "deck of cards" theme.

Trivia
* In the Original Street Fighter game, Birdie was a Caucasian male noted for standing much taller than Ryu, in later games he is retconned to be of African descent and stands in a hunched pose. This discrepancy is comically explained in Birdie's Street Fighter Alpha 3 win quote in which he states that he used to be pale because he was sick.
* In the Street Fighter Alpha games, Birdie was supposed to threaten his opponents with the Japanese taunt shi ne meaning "die" or "go to hell". Because "hell" was considered too strong a word, the final translation ended up being "go to heaven". Therefore, when Birdie executes his special techniques, he is uncharacteristally well-mannered in his threats.
* In the Udon Street Fighter comics, Birdie makes reference to "Running the Raging Storm gang out of the city", which is a subtle jab at rival company SNK.
