Version Cue tried to solve the digital asset versioning problem, from the perspective of a creative professional. Traditional version control systems (VCS) like RCS, CVS, SVN have been targeted at software developers, creative professionals who are less savvy with VCS concepts were a prime audience for Version Cue. In the meantime alternatives to Version Cue have emerged in the market place like Evolpin Zoom, Grid Iron Software.
