During the mid-1990s he became a student of Enoeda at his ''[[dojo]]'' in [[Marshall_Street_Baths|Marshall Street Baths]], in the [[Soho]] district of London. ==Competition== As a competitor, Herbert was involved in tournament Kkarate for 19 years, with ten of those spent as a full England and Great Britain international. During this period he represented his country at 18 major international championships, amongst them seven JKA Europeans and the 2004 JKA World Cup in Tokyo, Japan. With over 200 competition honours to his name attained at both domestic and international level, Herbert retired as the unbeaten JKA national Kata champion in 2004 at the age of 29. Herbert has stated in numerous interviews that the highlight of his competition career was winning the [[KUGB]] British championship for Master Enoeda's dojo, just weeks after Enoeda's death in 2003. ==Teaching== Herbert has coached many students to competition and grading merits. He has produced numerous Dan grades, national champions and international competitors who have competed up to World Championship standard.
