==Youth and high school==
Tyrell McCrea, raised in [[Del Rio Texas|Del Rio Texas]], spent his early childhood playing football and baseball. As a child, McCrea and his older brother, Frenchey Jr., would practice against each other in the parks and streets of Del Rio. He played in the city leagues but was unable to partipate in football his 7th and 8th grade season because he attended a private school. He began to blossom into a special player while attending [[Del Rio High School]]. McCrea became a key player on offense as a senior at Del Rio despite being hampered by ankle injuri(contracted; show full) have earned league honors for his performance against the Texas Copperheads with 4 tackles, sack, and a forced fumble for a 40 yard touchdown. In November 2007, he signed to play with the Sharks for another season. He started the Sharks first 7 games of the 2008 season but his season was cut short with season ending surgery. He finished with 13.5 tackles, to go along with two sacks.

In April 2011, McCrea signed with the [[New Orleans Voodoo]] of the Arena Football League. He is currently on the roster.
