The company was established in 1980 as subsidiary of Wipro Limited listed on New York Stock Exchange. Wipro was founded in 1945 by M.H.Hasham Premji in Amalner, [[Maharashtra]], producing sunflower [[Vanaspati]] Oil and soaps.
