The Sarajevo-Romanija Region, also called Sokolac Region, is a region of Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It includes parts of Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is named after the Romanija mountain.

At the heart of the Sokolac Region is the town of Sokolac, with a population of roughly 30,000, including the surrounding villages.

Another significant settlement in the area is the town of Pale (town), originally a remote suburb of the city of Sarajevo, which has become more heavily populated since the Bosnian Civil War of 1992-1995/6 (the Dayton Peace Accord was signed in 1995, but fighting did not cease until 1996). Today, Pale more closely resembles a proper town. It is additionally referred to by its Serb inhabitants, and in fact by many of the inhabitants of the Sokolac Region and/or Republika Srpska (Serb Republic), as 'Srpsko Sarajevo', or 'Serb Sarajevo.' However, as there is still a fair amount of distance between the borders of the actual city of Sarajevo and Pale itself (albeit less than 10 km), and because the naming arose as part of an ethnic assertion of property rights, some refer to the naming of 'Serb Sarajevo' with a hint of sarcasm. The town is, in reality, removed geographically from the city of Sarajevo and shares no features with the city itself. It is home to its own post office, University buildings, etc. It should be noted that 'Serb Sarajevo' is also used to designate the area of Sokolac Region that is closest to Sarajevo.
