The '''Purple Dragons''' or '''Purple Dragon Gang''' is a [[fictional]] [[street gang]] in several of the [[Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles]] continuities. They appear in the [[Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (comic book)|original comic books]] and the [[Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 series)|2003 animated series]]. The Turtles occassionally fight several street thugs that may or may not be members from Bebop and Rocksteady's former gang.

==2003 Cartoon==
In the [[2003]] TMNT cartoon, the Purple Dragons are, along with the Foot Clan and the Mafia, one of three powerful factions in New York that serve Oroku Saki, [[Shredder (TMNT)|the Shredder]]. The gang leader of the Purple Dragons is 
Hun, Shredder's right-hand-man. For much of the first season, the Purple Dragons were the most obvious enemies of the turtles. They were also the hated enemies of [[Casey Jones (TMNT)|Casey Jones]], having killed his father when they couldn't pay protection money.

===Hun===
Hun is a large, hulking bully, powerful but skilled in martial arts. He is the leader of the P[[List of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turptle Dragons street gang and the main henchman of [[Shredder (TMNT)|the Shredder]]. Hun also has some power in the [[Foot Clan]], though not enough to unite the clan during the Shredder's absence. When Hun and the Purple Dragons were younger, they burned down Casey's father's store and Casey's father died. This caused Casey to develop a personal vendetta against Hun and the Purple Dragons.

His favorite weapons aside from his powerful, enormous fists are a metal-chain and a [[bazooka]]. In this continuity, it was Hun that first entered the home of [[Hamato Yoshi]] in order to kill him and received a scar from his rat [[Splinter (TMNT)|Splinter]] before the rat escaped. In other continuities where Hamato Yoshi was killed, it was the Shredder himself who was so scarred (though such a twist would have made no sense, due to the nature of this version's Shredder).

Hun and [[Baxter Stockman]] have an uneasy friendship due to the fact they both served the Shredder but are now considered expendible failures to him, as both have lost to the Ninja Ts characters|Hun]], Shredder's right-hand-man. For much of the first season, the Purtples so many times--although unlike Stockman, Hun is still loyal to the Shredder despite being regularly demoralized by his Master.

In the episode "Same as it Never Was," when [[Donatello (TMNT)|Donatello]] is transported to a post-apocalyptic future courtesy of an enemy, Ultimate Drako, the Turtle finds that Stockman's brain container is attac Dragons were the most obvious enemies of thed to Hun's body (due to an experiment of the Shredder's) and that they have joined the Turtles' rebellion army--although Hun is still loyal to the Shredder.

Every major battle, Hun falls off or down something and yells "crud", and is shown again. 

Hun later finds out that the Shredder, Oroku Saki, in actuality is an [[Utrom]] and was shocked. He is left on Earth when Shredder leaves for space, after falling down a shaft with [[Leatherhead (TMNT)|Leatherhead]] and surviving.

Hun becomes the leader of the Purple Dragons, now an organized crime syndicate, and begins big time operations. Hun now doesn't seem to like Shredder after learning that he is an Utrom and even asks Karai how could she serve the Shredder knowing that he was an Utrom.

In a children's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles storybook based on the series, Hun is shown to have an equally massive, hillbilly brother named Arnold, whom Hun teams up with for tag-team wrestling matches. The two are undefeated until they do battle with Michelangelo and Raphael. However, this is likely non-canon to the seriesurtles. They were also the hated enemies of [[Casey Jones (TMNT)|Casey Jones]], having killed his father when they couldn't pay protection money.
