He did an operation when he was 7 for a girl who is 1 year older than him. Her fingers were fused together after being burnt. He became India's youngest university student, in [[Chandigarh]]. He possess books such as [[Gray's Anatomy, T]],  and textbooks of Sn [[surgery, Book on A]], [[anesthesia, ]], [[Human Anatomy and Medical Physiology]] , [[physiology]] and others. The boy devoured them by studying an hour a day, focusing completely. What he learns, he retains "like a photographic memory," Akrit explained. "It requires only concentration."

His father left his mother and himself when he was young, claiming "[he] will come  back when [Akrit] finds a cure for [[cancer]]". Since this Akrit has determined to one day find this cure.
