He did an operation when he was 7 for a girl who is 1 year older than him. Her fingers were fused together after being burnt. He became India's youngest university student, in [[Chandigarh]]. He possess books such as [[Gray's Anatomy]],  and textbooks on [[surgery]], [[anesthesia]], [[anatomy]]  , [[physiology]] and others. Akrit mastered them with his daily habit of   studying an hour a day.

His father left his mother and himself when he was young, claiming "[he] will come  back when [Akrit] finds a cure for [[cancer]]". Since this Akrit has determined to one day find this cure.
