On the afternoon of Thursday 22nd November [[2005]], Ricky Bishop with a friend was in a car. The police began to follow them and stopped them on Dalyell Road, South London. Ricky and his friend were taken to [[Brixton]] Police station. Ricky's mother was informed by police, that he was in [[King's College Hospital]], later that evening. Ricky's mother had to make her own way down to the hospital, and shortly afterwards she was told that her son died.

Doreen Bishop, Ricky Bishop's mother, told protesters. "We need to build a movement to stop police brutality. If it takes the rest of my life that's what I'll do." She lead a protest with [[Uhuru
 Movement]] on 11th April 2006, Ricky's birthday and 25th anniversary of the [[Brixton riots (1981)]] outside Brixon Police Station.
