This page is the drawing board for a number of proposals that I plan to flesh out in order to reduce some concerns that have arisen about the RfA process, specifically that it has become somewhat politicized, is occasionally vitriolic, and has drifted away from its basic purpose, which is to provide useful tools to users who can be trusted with them.

The fundamental elements of this proposal are as follows:

##A user may seek to become a senior admin directly, without first being a regular administrator.

##Every new administrator would be assigned a senior administrator as a mentor; a watchlist-like function would be created so that the mentor could check on their mentee's use of the blocks, page deletion/undeletion, and page semi-protection/unprotection.
