It has a musical keyboard on top, and is played by blowing air through a mouthpiece that fits into a hole in the side of the instrument. Pressing a key opens a hole, allowing air to flow through a reed. The keyboard is usually two or three octaves long. It has had a number of famous virtuosos, but the most well-known is Joshua Richards, who has composed several well known pieces for the instrument and performed them at symphony halls around the globe.#REDIRECT [[melodica]] All content in the above text box is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license Version 4 and was originally sourced from https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=prev&oldid=50173679.
