'''The Sprite Sister Stories''' are a series of [[Fantasy literature|fantasy novels]] written by Sheridan Winn and aimed at readers aged 7-12 years. The idea for the stories - four sisters who each have a magic power related to one of the four elements - popped up when Winn was writing in her diary late one night in January 2007. A few days later, she approached Piccadilly Press’s Brenda Gardner and The Sprite Sisters were born.

==The Setting==
In the gently undulating countryside of [[North Norfolk]] is a huge, mysterious house, with rolling grounds. This is Sprite Towers, the home of the Sprite family. [[Magic (paranormal)|Magic]] runs through the Sprite family, but not all of it is good and nobody knows who has it. Flame has the ability to see ahead, to see things that are going to happen. She is the sister who usually works out how to get the Sprite Sisters out of a tight spot. She loves reading, sport and playing the violin. Flame has a lot of courage, but also a fiery temper. Her favorite colors are red and orange. Her eyes are green and her hair colour is copper. She likes to discuss new ideas and ways of thinking. When she grows up she will be a writer. She looks like her grandmother, Marilyn, in her younger years.

'''Marina''' is 12 and has the power of [[Water]]. Her favourite season is Summer and she is most relaxed in the afternoon. Her eyes are blue and her hair is curly and dark brown. Marina has a big heart. She is warm, playful and friendly and loves talking to her friends. She trusts people and has a lot of empathy. She is a lively girl and loves to perform - singing and dancing. When she grows up, she will be an actress or a singer. She plays the viola. Her favourite colours are blue and white. She looks like her grandfather, Sheldon, in his youth.

'''Ash''' is 10 and has the power of [[Earth]]. When things get difficult between the sisters, it is Ash who is the balance and calms things down. The quietest and most patient sister, she thinks deeply about things. She plays the cello and loves to be outside. She is very close to her father and spends a lot of time in the garden with him, growing the vegetables. When she grows up, Ash will be a doctor or an environmental scientist. She likes the evening time and the Autumn. Her favorite colour is green. Ash's hair is tufty and chestnut brown, and her eyes are brown. She looks like her father, Colin.

'''Ariel''' is 9 and has the power of [[Air]]. She is the naughtiest of the sisters and is always getting in to trouble. She likes to daydream and has her ‘head in the clouds’. There is always has a story going on in Ariel’s head, but often she surprises her family with her wisdom and clear insight. She likes the night, when she can dream some more and is happiest in the Winter, particularly when it snows. When she grows up she will be an artist, a musician or a teacher. She plays the flute and loves her animals. Her favorite colors are pink and yellow. Her hair is blonde and she looks like her mother, Ottalie.

'''Glenda Glass''' is an old enemy of the sisters' grandmother, Marilyn Sprite. Glenda has always been jealous that Marilyn married Sheldon Sprite and lived at Sprite Towers. As ballet dancers in their younger days, Glenda always lost out to Marilyn's superior talent. She uses her dark magic to take revenge and aims to get hold of Sprite Towers and to hurt Marilyn Sprite and her granddaughters.

'''Verena Glass''' is Flame's arch enemy at Drysdales' School. She also seems to like Quinn. She becomes a good friend of Marina in Book 2, The Magic Unfolds.
