According to his website ( www.njweedman.com ), Forchion is a practicing [[Rastafari movement|Rastafarian]].<ref name="www.njweedman.com"/>

Forchion proudly admits he was a "marijuana smuggler"{{Citation needed|date=September 2011}}, driving hundreds of pounds of cannabis from the US/Mexico border, primarily border towns in Texas and Arizona.  He would then transport these good
s to the east coast cities such as [[Cleveland, Ohio]], Philadelphia, [[New York City]] and [[Camden, New Jersey]]. In 1994, he was first dubbed "The New Jersey Weedman," because his Mexican suppliers in Arizona noted that while other drugs were available for transport, he was only interested in trafficking marijuana.
