Jive turkey
A Jive Turkey is a person who is unhip, uncool, or simply has no idea what he/she is talking about. Someone who pretends to know a lot, but really just makes stuff up can be referred to as a "Jive Turkey." This is an insulting or derogatory term that is often used by Jazz Cats. The term "Jive Turkey" was made popular in the 70's, but usage has declined since then.
