This page will tell about the evolution of Digital Villages. It has been an experience that started in the mid-90's. The first target village was Wirby in the southeastern part of Finland. The project has been helping small businesses, entrepreneurs and organizations take full advantage of Information Technology through research, education, interchange, and collaboration.

Just like Wikipedia, it has been a journey and a learning experience. The first attempt to write about Digital Villages and Wirby the Global Village in Wikipedia dates back to august 2005; the date this user page was made. The project was standing still for months while the use of Wikipedia was unfamiliar.
