Difference between revisions 6105252 and 6118074 on enwikiSome parts of this seem to go against the nature of Wikipedia, imo. Not being able to create new main namespace pages until you have recognition stops someone new from coming along and creating a fantastic new article - they have to edit other articles and draw attention to themselves. The proposal has merit but I think there are problems associating a user popularity rank with their permissions. violet/riga (t) 22:31, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC) :The point levels are just there as an idea. I personally think that the scale (as well as the entire proposal, it could be said) is very rough around the edges, and it serves as just an example of what could be done with this. If the base point level should include more permissions than these (and they probably do), then you can draft another system. If you dislike this altogether (see below), then I will take your comments into consideration and modify or scrap the thing outright. [ alerante | “” 20:14, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC) ]⏎ ⏎ Bad idea, it's as gameable as Slashdot's karma points. I have some other possible objections. Should I add them to the section? Andrewa 18:18, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC) :Go ahead, it's just a proposal, if you have anything to add, just go ahead. ⏎ ⏎ :EDIT: Please sign the additions too. [ alerante | “” 19:56, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC) ] All content in the above text box is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license Version 4 and was originally sourced from https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=prev&oldid=6118074.
