He did an [[operation]] when he was 7 for an 8 year old girl whose [[fingers]] were fused together after being burnt. He became India's youngest university student, in [[Chandigarh]]. He possesses books such as [[Gray's Anatomy]],  and textbooks on [[surgery]], [[anesthesia]], [[anatomy]], [[physiology]] and others. Akrit mastered them with his daily habit of studying for an hour.

His father left him and his mother when he was young, claiming that "[he] will come  back when [Akrit] finds a cure for [[cancer]]". Since then Akrit has been determined to one day find this cure.
