Cleantech Group provides corporations, investors and others with market research, investment research and trends, and company profiles through the [[i3 Connect
|i3 platform]], a database of over 224,000 cleanemerging technology companies, investors and executives. i3 provides instant updates on clean technology investments, IPOs, mergers, acquisitions, business relationships, and other financing activity.  Clients have full access to the searchable, filterable, and exportable database of cleantech investment data going back to 2002. As of 2015, i3 also provides a network allowing corporates and emerging technologies to connect with each other, and eventually form partnerships or invest in one another.

Cleantech Group is the producer of the Cleantech Forums which are global conferences including the flagship Cleantech Forum San Francisco and Cleantech Forum Europe.

In partnership with the Guardian, since 2009 Cleantech Group has produced the Global Cleantech 100, a list of the top 100 private companies in clean technology.  The list is produced by combining Cleantech Group research data, with over 6,000 nominations and input from an expert panel.

The company is based in San Francisco, with offices around the world.
