==The power of Wikipedia==
My first few edits to Wikipedia were to update news on the [[Brian Nichols]] case, and I got hooked about a month later. I've always believed that while it's important Wikipedia be a comprehensive source on all sorts of history to compete with the big boys like [[Encyclopædia Britannica]], the project's greatest strength is its ability to provide knowledge on a whole range of topics relevant right now and into the future. While it would be great in the future to see undergraduates and school kids sourcing Wikipedia without doubt about its credibility on major topics, I feel that right now it fills a powerful hole - lots of knowledge, that's free, on lots of stuff. Basically, you might not leave Wikipedia an expert on any one subject just by reading our article, but you're going to have little bits of knowledge on all sorts of things, and that's just as valuable. We're providing the broadest [[liberal arts]] education out there.⏎
