On 25 March 2012, Gould died at the age of 23 after a six-year-long battle with ''[[Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia]] ''that he was originally diagnosed with in 2006. Ridgewell later announced on a live stream that Edd had asked him to take over the series in the event of his death.
