'''Open House''' is a term that is widely used in the United States of America, to refer to a common, usually after-school, casual school event. Open House is usually held very shortly after the beginning of a child's school year, and is most commonly held in the evening. At this event, parents or parental guardians are given the opportunity to take a small tour of their child's school, visit their child's classrooms, meet their child's teachers, and sometimes meet other school administrators, such as the Principal of the school. Often  times during this event, parents and teachers discuss the child's performance in school; particularly in regards to any difficulties the child might be having in class, and ways to improve those difficulties. 

Largely, the main goal of Open House is to form a direct line of communication between parents and teachers, to help ensure that children succeed more easily in school. Just as importantly, open House is seen as a way to bring a community of people, parents and teachers, closer together, and may occasionally give the community an opportune chance to address other issues, such as the general social or environmental factors that surround the school area.⏎
