== Arminius ==

I see you've brought a case against Arminius.  As you probably noticed he blocked me once on a 3-revert infraction in September.  I'm not so terribly concerned about that (I was out of line).  My concern is that he refused to admit any error and persisted in his actions after others pointed out the error.  Guanaco unblocked me [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Arminius&diff=6230559&oldid=6219252] and notified Arminius of his error [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Guanaco/archive&diff=6259827&oldid=6259801].  He re-instated the block anyway [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Wolfman/3&diff=6274387&oldid=6274180].  

Perusing his history reveals a pattern:

In October [[User:Michael Snow]] unblocked [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Arminius&diff=6784922&oldid=6779594] another user blocked against policy by Arminius.  In reply, Arminius thanked him for his "interference" [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Michael_Snow&diff=6807881&oldid=6784851].

Here [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Arminius&diff=7437006&oldid=7380501] and here [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Sam_Hocevar#GNAA_Popeye], Arminius refuses to provide information providing a reblock.  Whether the block was justified or not, the refusal to answer a legitimate query about it is not justified.

Here [[User:Mark Richards]] notes that Arminius is again not properly justifying blocks [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Arminius&diff=7380501&oldid=6904909].

In the Chameleon incident, Arminius removed complaints with the comments "remove troll message" and remove "already read/ignorant message".  He replied to mirv complaint with the heading "response to foolishness" and called those who had unblocked Chameleon "ignorant".  In response to mirv warning he stated "Please feel free to make any case against me you like. I honestly don't care that much." In short, Arminius has displayed extremely poor temperment as a sysadmin, little respect for others who disagree with actions, and little respect for policy. :Hi Neutrality - Without having read all the guidelines, my guess is that arbitration process is largely for members of the arbitration commitee to consider. I'm rather disappointed, but not surprised, that Arminius' actions in yesterday's pie fight have lead to [[User:Chameleon|Chameleon]] leaving Wikipedia again. As far as I could tell Chameleon was a good contributor with useful translation skills. I'm not trying to harm efforts to protect Wikipedia from legal liability, of course. I just don't think it's really a legal issue&mdash;if anything arose, we could deal with it&mdash;and the possibility, however slim, that it actually was a famous person warranted more caution that I felt was being exercised. Hi Neutrality,

By random chance I was looking at the block log and I noticed you blocked [[User:Rantaro]] for an infinite amount of time due to legal threats. Is this block supported by policy? Shouldn't this decision be in the hands of Jimbo or the arbitration committee? I have unblocked him. Legal threats are not covered in the blocking policy, and Jimbo can take what action he deems necessary&mdash;the message was posted to his talk page, and I presume he's seen it by now. FWIW, I don't think Rantaro is a malevolent troll like [[User:Enforcer|Enforcer]], who was blocked for making legal threats against the Wikimedia Foundation; I think he's been having trouble on [[ja:]] and couldn't think of any other way to deal with it.
