Mammen was born on 27 July 27, 1922. His father was Abraham, Kizhakke veettil, [[Elanthoor]], [[Pathanamthitta]] District, [[Kerala]].

==Contributions==
For almost fifty years, he was one of the leaders of the children’s wing, Akhila Kerala Balajana Sakyam. He was in the fore front of their activities and in their camps

As a history teacher he went on to trace and record the history of his own people

Donated a part of his ancestral property to open a hospital at his home village.

Died on 21 June 21, 2009.
